[//]:# (!steemitworldmap 58.170148 lat -5.309529 long Tropical beaches on the Scottish Coast d3scr) When I shared Monochrome Series: North-Coast of the Scottish Highlands yesterday, I told you about the almost tropical feeling some beaches in North Scotland give you.
Of course, in Black and White I will never be able to show you exactly how tropical these beaches are. I mean, the colors! The colors are what make these beaches real treasures and make you rethink about the kind of images are categorized in our heads as 'belonging' to certain parts of the world.
Almost like HAWAII
In this first picture I want to focus on the colour of the sand. Doesn't this look like a beach from Hawaii or The Bahamas? Don't look too closely, or you'll see people wearing quite thick and heavy winter coats...
A SCOTTISH blue
In the second picture I focussed on the colour of the water. This shade of blue is of a kind I've only seen in Mediterranean or Pacific coasts. The Dutch sea, which isn't that far from Scotland, is filled with a very very brown (although very clean) water. Imagine my surprise to find out this Scottish shade of blue!
The above images are crops from the panoramic shot I took while resting on a rock and enjoying this gorgeous beach. I had been driving the Scottish roads for a while now, and had longed to see one of the beaches people had been talking about. If felt lucky and blessed and after writing this post I certainly can't wait to feel the sea winds again.
