Communities: participating and creating

I'm part of several communities, amongst which @thealliance, @adsactly, @helpie, and recently got invited into the @ddaily family. Even better: I'm in the process of creating and growing a Steem Community in The Netherlands! SteemFest inspired me to meet-up as much as possible with fellow Steemians. Sharing ideas, passions, optimism and a beer or two can help foster deeper connections and will help in retaining users on the platform, as well as getting some new people on board.

Commenting: there's no 'reward' without it

According to the infamous Engagement League I made 216 comments last week. It's the first and most important advise I give any Plankton or Minnow that wants to grow: keep commenting and put some thought into it! I'm practicing what I preach as best as I can, without comments even a highly rewarded post is just 'meh'.

Posting: for Steemians and non-Steemians alike

I keep my content close to myself, but I do try to make both content that's 'nice to read' for non-Steemians (maybe first-time visitors of the platform) as well as what I call 'Meta Steem' content, that speaks about what we're doing and building here. I believe we need this mix so people both on and off our platform find something engaging. Keep people engaged on the platform without losing sight that we want to attract new users as well.

Promoting: Steem for non-(b)(v)loggers

I recently started onboarding new users on our beautiful Blockchain. The new apps, and especially @actifit and @steemmonsters, make it easier for me to get people 'on' since some apps match that person's interest. You don't have to be a content maker anymore to start *Steemin'! I will share results on this proces soon.
