It is 2018. Year 3 for Steemians. SteemFest3 is here. [SteemFest3 scene] We had a blast. We kissed goodbye. "See ya next year!" [SteemFastForward scene] We tried it all. Steemfest 'VR'. The 'snowden way'. Our faces on a robot. But in the end we crave hugs more than practicalities. So at SteemFest3000 - we decided to meet again. [The end]
The above 'GIF short movie' is called 'the people stay the same'. The lines in the GIF short movie are loosely based on the fiction piece I wrote for Part 1 of my entry in the SteemFastForward.
It is the Year 3. For 7 billion other people living on planet Earth it is the Year 2018, but those 7 billion don't really matter, we are Steemians, and the 1 million of us only count years starting with the one in which our Blockchain was born. So it's the Year 3 After Steem (A.S.), and we're all feeling pretty good, since Steem does already mean so much to us. While the rest of the world is still sleeping and feeling obligated to like their friends baby pictures on Facebook, we are slowly but surely seeing a dream come true, a decentralized social media platform that rewards us for our input - who opens the Instagram app anymore in Year 3?

Even though we will advance and adapt as a species thanks to new technologies and the drive to expand our world(s), I believe we will never be able to adapt in (a) world(s) where meeting people 'in person' or the ability to have physical contact is impossible. This thought formed the basis of this and the previous work.
SPECIFICS
The GIF short movie is created by me, @soyrosa, for the @blocktrades sponsored contest with the goal to visualize how SteemFest3000 might look like (and well, also to possibly win a ticket for SteemFest3!), all promoted and curated by @sndbox and @anomadsoul. The work consists of 39 seperate image files/frames that I created in Photoshop, each consisting of several layers. The layers are edits from both my own original photography as well as works of others, see for specifics the image credits.
The GIF short movie would not upload and/or load when uploading it on my own website due to an error on the Steem Blockchain that read 'payload too high'. Therefore I decided to create a thumbnail leading to the uploaded work on my own website. If the GIF doesn't play for whatever reason let me know - it might not play in some of the Steem apps that are available. It should work in any browser.
