I'm currently curious how this weekend will evolve: as I live in a country with lots of rain hours per annum, we tend to looooove to compensate those hours when the sun finally shines.
Honestly. First rays of sun means: Dutchies en-masse on terraces drinking 'witbier'.
Get some insights - part comedy, part serious - on The Netherlands, and pay special attention to the last scenes that are a very honest portrayal of what I wrote above:
Anyway, it's making me curous how the Dutch will react on 20 degrees Celcius, knowing this is normally counted as the first day of Spring, and a reason to go outside to drink that first beer.
Will we be able to constrain ourselves and stay inside? Will we all go outside? But what about all the bars that are closed? Will we then go for a walk and a picnic in the limited amount of 'natural parks' our small country holds?
Will we, in other words, be able to prove that we are indeed capable of the 'intelligent lock-down' our prime-minister so religiously wants for us in times of Corona?
I'm not sure. I will watch a lot of live webcams the next few days, that's for sure. If we can't make it through this weekend staying home, then we certainly will see stricter lock-down measures - as all the spring breaks and easter holidays are coming up next month.
Stay safe folks.
