The 'Erasmusbrug' in Rotterdam is famous for its amazing design and the fact it was brought in place over water, almost in one whole piece. I wasn't there to observe this, but what a sight it must have been to see a bridge being delivered over water!
Of course, a landmark like that gets pictured often, both by people from Rotterdam and tourists. I used to walk this bridge a few times a week, and therefore have taken countless pictures of it myself. After a while only the more abstract pictures remain interesting to me: not the full image of the bridge, but parts of it that somehow frame a story. Like this one, where the railing of the bridge creates a shadow on the material of the bridge, in the meanwhile creating a photo frame in itself for the river 'Maas' and the little rowers in a tiny boat.
This picture is very much signifying a piece of 'home' for me. I wouldn't be able to think of my home city without thinking of its skyline and prominent bridge(s).
What landmarks or sights in your home(town) are significant to you?
