[Slice of HOME] City landmarks reflected in a window

'Home' can mean many things, and can be multiple places at once, but one thing that is definitely 'Home' to me is my city Rotterdam.

It's not the prettiest city in the world but it's the coolest and brightest and it's very dear to me.
I relax when I see 'THE' Rotterdam skyline after a trip abroad. I breathe in deep and know all is well.

The building reflected in the window is one of the famous landmarks of Rotterdam, close to our main railroad station. I have never seen Rotterdam without this building. It's basically existing of glass, and the facade has been used in a meaningful way on special occasions - I've seen a purple 'ribbon' on the side, I've seen our Dutch soccer team cover the front, I've seen a star-like flickering on the pieces of glass at night... It's a plain and simple building that provides many opportunities and I love that it's being used in a creative way on a regular basis.

I've recently started a new fitness routine that makes me pass the building on the right once a week. Every week I notice something different I want to take a picture of.

It's the magic of photography for me: the more you see a place the more you'll notice. The sun is spectacular this time of year and I will check again in a few months how the reflection in this exact same window has changed.

Basically, I believe even though I always want to travel in order to take pictures, I might take the best ones at home. The individual pictures are not coming close to 'the best' shots I've taken, but over time the collection will tell a story. My story. Of my home.
