Short updates from a short Dutch trip #7

The heart of Nijmegen exists of a few smaller streets that are a bit harder to 'Google Street View', which sort of is a nice idea, right, that there are still places that are a bit harder to find and you actually have to explore yourself?

I loved this beautiful big facade, fully repainted in flawless layers of dark green and red, with bold contrasty stripes on the wooden gate, and little squares on the window 'doors' that must have a dedicated word in the English language.

It must have been such a lovely square back in the days as well - probably a lot less bicycles stalled in front of the building, but a lot more people walking around here, as it used to be one of the main routes towards the church.

I can just imagine a small market having a place here, where you'd buy your bread and fruits just before walking back home over cobbled streets, greeting people in dressed that may have been 'simple' for that time but would contain 5 times the amount of fabric you wear nowadays...

[From Google Street View to Throwaway fashion in just a few sentences, yes, that's how my mind works when I don't force myself to write a post with a start and an end.]
