Depending on what source you check and how you define 'building' this is the oldest stone structure/building found in The Netherlands so far. I had to climb quite a few steps to get here, as Nijmegen is one of the cities that's build on top of hills, something hard to find in our flat country.
The little park surrounding it was lovely and not busy, although still being used by a group of children accompanied by a teacher of sorts (schools were still closed, so maybe a camp or so?), and someone practicing throwing and catching some sort of object from a rope attached to two sticks - I'm sure this has a name, but I'm not aware if it, neither in Dutch nor in English.
Anyway, according to the Dutch Wikipedia this building is from the Year 1000, or maybe even 996, truly a gem of history, and beautifully framed by the trees around it.
I might have to go back here just to read a book for an hour or two, and really soak in the surroundings.
