I noticed a lot of empty land, grass and rocks while driving through the Scottish Highlands. Sometimes a strip of trees appeared though, a strip that I assumed was left there purposely, or even planted there purposely, to influence the land and protect certain parts from the wind.

I remembered finding a green oasis in the almost barren empty lands Patagonia, Argentina - there were British settlers who created this oasis by finding a smart way to plant trees, getting the wind to go around certain plots, providing an opportunity for plants to grow and flourish.

It was the weirdest thing, finding all this green in this further brown and red rocky part of the world. I remember drinking tea from a with flowers decorated tea pot held warm under a thick cotton sleeve. A tiny slice of Britain in that huge gorgeous Argentina.

This memory is not a description of the picture, just the way memories work.

I feel like making myself a huge pot of tea today.

Linking all previous photographs in these series takes up too much space below my posts. But I've linked all the photographs up until #20 in the post where I also give a little peak into the making of a photo book on the series: 'The making of a photo book #1'.
