[PHOTO] Taking pictures through dirty train windows #13

The train from Madrid to Cordoba took off in the early morning. Bright sun was already shining on the many olive trees covering the hilly countryside. I was sitting on the left side of the train. A significant detail: the sun was shining on that part of the train, meaning everything inside ‘my’ side of the train was covered in sunlight as well.

For me, as a photographer, that meant: sighing a lot, because every picture I wanted to take also showed the left part of the face (mainly an ear) of the guy reading his comic book in the seat in front of me.

So I looked longingly at the right side of the train: that's where the landscapes were covered in light but the windows were not full of reflections of ears of passengers.

All the seats at that side of the train were occupied.

So I'll just have to remember. The terra, brown earth, the green of olive trees, the perfectly lit landscapes. Pictures will have to wait. Maybe I'll take the train again someday in the future. At least I know which seats to pick.
