Sun is already setting - 4 to 5 PM are the best times for beach photography in the current wintery Dutch season. I go to the beach, aiming to be there around this time. I don't necessarily need the full sunset, but these moments where the yellow and blue in the sky are both very very noticeable are what tickles my brain.

I find a man on the entrance of 'my' little beach - sitting on one of the few places that will not make his pants soaking wet as it has rained quite a bit lately - just staring into the ocean. It's the most calming thing I can imagine myself doing as well - the feeling of wind, the sound of the waves, the visual stimulation from clouds and a setting sun.

Total relaxation.

As there's recently been a revival of the public transport towards the coast from my city I might have more chances of going to my happy place - and have a little breather while also taking shots like these. People like me, enjoying some fresh non-city air while everyone stays inside because it's cold and windy.

As I'm often limited in the amount of walks I can make in a week, I love going to places where I can max the feeling of 'being outside' while absolutely limiting 'amount of steps needed to enjoy it'.

The beach is one of those places, but the connection towards it was halted for more than a year due to replacing the train for a lighter kind of rail transportation. I literally can't wait until the next time I'm visiting - and counting how many people took the same decision that grey, dark, gloomy, windy stay-at-home day.

And drink a hot chocolate milk after. As is customary after a walk on a Dutch beach <3
