This week's @killerpix theme is 'Radio'! I thought back through the representation I have of my photo archives in my mind, because where and when would I have taken a picture of a Radio?!
Then I remembered it was a cool item left in one of the abandoned houses in Doel, Belgium, which I visited for an adventurous Urban Exploration session in the (cold, cold) winter of 2013.
It's one of those radio decks (in Dutch we would actually point at this and call it 'the radio' or maybe 'cassette player', I don't know how this would be called by native English speakers) I used to have when I was a child. My first memories of this thing are recording songs from my favourite radio stations and hoping it would stitch nicely with the songs that I taped before.
It used to be a balancing act of listening to a song, stopping the cassette at the exact right time, not too soon, not too late, in order to not cut off the song or have a cringeworthy long pauze between two songs. (That would of course already be imperfectly beginning end ending, since the radio show host would blabber on about the song while it was already starting to play. Sigh)
Anway, good memories about being a child raising up in the 90's! Thanks @killerpix for the fun theme this week!
