The trunk of a tree - ever wondered what we would be able to discover if trees were able to tell stories? Standing there, growing, for years and years and years - with people passing by, other elements of nature surrounding them. And they stand still. Very very still. Everything is happening around them.

I've always said my dream job is something where I can observe people all day. Be a quiet mouse in a room or a company, just walking around and observing. Watching. Drawing conclusions from all the things I notice.

I notice a lot. More than most. It's helpful, in many situations, and sometimes it makes me say things that people don't understand. I might notice a certain person is not trustworthy. But if I share my conclusions too soon other will not be at that conclusion yet and instead might think I'm weird, harsh, cynical, untrusting.

So I often wait with sharing. In the meanwhile I keep observing, sitting quiet in a corner, not moving, noticing. Today I looked into the eye of a tree and wondered what it had observed in all its years of standing there - Quietly.
