I remember I had to run at every zebra crossing while I was traveling in Russia. The traffic light gave pedestrians and cars a certain amount of seconds that counted down. Pedestrians were highly disadvantaged. Not only did you never get enough seconds to make it, but also the white stripes of most zebra crossings were completely faded away and therefore invisible.
The long waiting time for the cars gave me time to shoot a picture of a lovely red sunset though :-) For those who look close enough: you can see how many seconds I had left before I had to quickly! cross the street.
This is a preview of my hopefully soon to be started series on my travels to Russia, Mongolia and China. As I discussed with @livinguktaiwan: it can be messy and way too unstructured to write down travel stories. Details merge, chronology can be either very or really unimportant at the same time, how much detail will be kept, and if I don't write that one story - will I ever? Thousands of doubts. Plus the fact these travels were a bit overshadowed by an accident with my foot makes me postpone writing the series. But I will.
