Ordinary streets | Extraordinary moments | #7

It's been a while since I posted a shot in my Ordinary streets | Extraordinary moments series, but a contest organized by fellow Dutchman @verhp11 made me go through my street photography archives in order to find a photo I could share with all of you.

The story

In 2014 I went for a few weeks to New York, and since it was my second time in The Big City I wanted to dive a little deeper into Brooklyn instead of Manhattan. I walked a lot alongside the river, and quite near to the Brooklyn Bridge there's a famous market with vintage market stalls and such. Right outside you find a waterside where both locals and tourists gather to enjoy a drink and the breathtaking views on Manhattan and among others the Freedom Tower.

I intensely enjoyed myself by making dozens of shots of people posing with that famous Manhattan Skyline in the background. It's something I'd never really do myself, but observing people and taking pictures of them? Yes, that's me.

Among all the 'posers' I noticed this lovely family - the mom trying to get the best shot possible of her son. Who wouldn't? Kids grow up so fast and how awesome is it to have that super cool shot of your growing kid with this kind of backdrop?

The mother clearly wanted a 'Lady Liberty' shot of her son, instructed her son how to stand by waving her arms, but it's not easy for a kid to pose. After quite a few missed attempts the father decided to step in. In the shot you see him making the pose the mother wants the son to make; you can see her arms behind the father's legs posing the shot. Family teamwork.

It not: I hope they'll find my picture on this blockchain one day. I'll send a print of it to them free of charge :-)]

PS: There's about 3 more days to join this lovely contest by @verhp11 - Join so we can read and see your stories and have a chance at 5 STEEM!
