A good week for OCD: the Application Post I had written for the @minnowsupport witness vote landed well which means we're now in Spot 19 in the Witness Ranks. Thanks @minnowsupport for your... support!

OCD also welcomed a few awesome new curators like @bigtom13, @svemirac, @livinguktaiwan, @rosatravels, @schlees, @randomwanderings and @futureminds - and I'm even missing a few. Our team is growing big! Follow @ocd to see which posts get curated - and follow a few of them to support their growth in the Steem ecosystem if possible :-)

Curated posts from 29th of april to May 4th

This post by @bigtom13 is starting a series on Environmental Issues. He's starting with one issue close to home, the Colorado River. He and 40 million other people rely on this river for bathing, drinking, cooking. Unfortunately the river is under distress and this could end up in a catastrophe. A great post with a lot of personal pictures from the author. Also a warning for all of us: our environments should stay balanced so we ourselves and the creatures around us can stay healthy and balanced as well.

Just-hatched baby turtles! @yannay describes sitting on a beach only to suddenly be surprised by this unique and once-in-lifetime experience... "Looking at them - making their first steps, then a first ocean touch, first swim, a group together but each one moving alone - it did something to me. It wasn’t just joy and happiness that filled my heart. It was more than that." It touched @yannay's soul, and the description of this magical experience touched mine.

This is the story of a brave young woman served with her corps in a Nigerian Village and got incredibly ill while doing so. It's a story of sickness and shock when she discovered how some of the villages in her country look like - and how small children die from different diseases. The author @oluwatobiloba pleads to her authorities to help save the young children who live in awful circumstances in the rural areas of Nigeria. A post worth reading.

Have you ever been to the Hermitage? Well, after reading and looking at this post you (almost) don't have to go anymore! Author @kurokikuro takes us with her to this amazing place where so many great works of art are on display. From cubism to impressionism, everything is presented and explained at the Hermitage, and after reading this post it looks like I need to put this higher on my bucket list!

Is romantic love superior to other kinds of love? @ayushjalan explores this topic - with references to his personal ideas and thoughts about love. "For me personally, I think romantic love should come after self-love, because like they say, you can't love someone else if you can't even love yourself." As he starts writing he already mentions this might be a question without a perfect answer - but that doesn't mean we should stop trying to!
