I have always been interested in clean design, minimalistic, 'less is more' shapes and colours. Stripes, dots, geometric patterns and black and white contrasts shape my wardrobe. If I could I would ban everything I don't find visually pleasing out of my life. Bad design can really ruin my day, but if something hits the spot I'll buy it and love it for the rest of my life.
I have never had a lot of graphic education, except for some simple screen printing at my secondary school. But more and more I feel like I should extend my knowledge on design. Digital or manual playing with shapes and colours and the effects they have on design.
I have no idea where to start, but today I played around with this very minimalistic photograph, and made some digital variations on the shapes and colours.
[Some of the digital sketches I made, basic scapes and colours in image 1, then added or substracted with each other and the base image to create digital variations.]
After flipping, stitching and reversing: did I just create a new landscape? A new mountain range reflected in water maybe?
