Meeting fellow Steemian @pundito

There's no good excuse to not write a post about meeting a fellow Steemian - but between a nasty cold, my translation work of the Steem Whitepaper, a day where the Steem Blockchain was not producing blocks and some content that I wrote because it had a deadline - this one had slipped through - until now!

Meeting @pundito

A few weeks ago @pundito offered to buy me a coffee so we could chat about our favourite topic, all things steem! Now, who says no to that?

I had recently found out he lives quite close to the place I grew up and I recognized some beach paths on his pictures that I had walked only weeks before. The world is small and on Steemit I seem to encounter an unexpected high amount of Dutch people - say hi to the likes of @karinxxl, @anouk.nox, @brittandjosie, @misslasvegas and @hetty-rowan and loads of witnesses like @s3rg3 and @exyle (part of the @blockbrothers witness) and @rival and of course witness/SteemFest organizer @roelandp. And what about @scipio who just recently launched the @steem-ua initiative?

Although I go here still as an adult at least a few times a year :-)]

I had already been meeting with @amritadeva, the lovely person that lives in my city and I now drink coffee with regularly.

I realized I didn't even think about what it's like to meet up with a fellow Steemian because it's always fun, haha! But I didn't realize that for @pundito this was his first meeting with a fellow Steemian! Ever!

I'm still very honoured I was the selected ONE that he picked to meet up with for the first time!

It was truly fun to chat with him about our experiences, how he started out earning zero cents on his posts, bought his first STEEM so he could pay off his 'debt', then that of his girlfriend (psionic-tremors), and even his dog (haha, yes, his dog is a famous Steemian! Meet @dog-marley) is out of debts now. How he discovered how Steem works, how he got to finally earning on his posts (for him @steembounty was helpful among others!). We chatted about whales, investors, SMT's, how Steemit will evolve (or not), and if those things we often complain about are actually that bad if we're looking at the full picture.

A small small world

While I was talking about all these topics with @pundito who had mentioned the term 'Steemit' near a table with two people chatting a guy came up to us: "Did you just mention Steem?!" he asked us, and when we confirmed, he asked "Then... Do you also know @roelandp?".

He then explained how he is a friend of @roelandp who had just explained to him what Steem was, and walked him through the workings of it - there were honestly only 3 people at that moment at the café and all three were on the Steem Blockchain...

Is this a small world or what?

I love how Steem connects so many people. And thanks @pundito with honouring me with your first Steem meet-up!
