When I arrived on this platform in december, I joined a bit later than @r00sj3, who I already knew from my earlier blogging adventures. She was one of the first people I ever met from 'the online world' into 'the offline world', which was still a very weird and maybe even scary thing to do about 15 years ago. You know, pre-Facebook.
But I never before met an original Steemian!
But, until today I have never met a Steemian I connected with here 'in real life!'
Of course, in the various Discord groups and comments below blog posts I have spoken with a few people about the possibility of it happening. I'm also very much looking forward to the next @steemfest, which would be my first since I arrived on Steemit just after the last SteemFest had taken place.
But @amritadeva actually was bold enough to simply invite me for a cup of coffee. Why?
- We both started our Steemit adventure late 2017
- We both live in the same city, Rotterdam
- We both are born in the same year
At some point there are too many similarities, there's no escaping anymore: we just had to meet!
(Really, what are the chances of two people born around the same time arriving on Steemit at the same time, while living in the same city, on a platform with only 60000 active users? Think about that!)
Who is @amritadeva? [Online version]
Well, she is a fun and bright blogger, posting with a lot of enthusiasm for 'our' city Rotterdam, which she is still getting to know since she started really living here only 1,5 years ago! She therefore writes about many things I love too, like the impressive and huge cruise ships passing and stopping in our city, or all the fun and crazy architecture Rotterdam is famous for. Next to that she writes cool pieces about the wonders of life, like this conversation she had with a friend or this personal growth moment she shared with her husband.

That's just plain scary and stalker-like.
But I must say: the offline version of @amritadeva is even better! We drank some coffee (she likes 'em with a lot of milk), chatted about our lives and recent adventures, about how we embed our Steemit lives in our off-Steemit careers, and exchanged a lot of details, tips and laughs about all things Steemit.
We had so much fun we even dropped the idea to... organize a meet-up somewhere this summer! We'll be there (so success is already guaranteed), and those who want to join are welcome! We'll update you more about this low-bar meet-up in the coming weeks.
