Five days ago I launched a new round of music from around the world and it is a joy indeed! I explained in the post the rules and for now I've collected quite a few rock songs in many different languages. This is interesting as some languages I don't really associate with rock: they might be known for other types of music better - like Portuguese or Indonesian. But that's also exactly why I like this challenge and why I invite you all to listen to the songs shared below.
For this round we have the following languages: Hebrew, German, Czech, Croatian, Slovak, Serbian, Indonesian, Chinese, Dutch, French, Icelandic, Australian, Portuguese, Finnish, Polish, Greek, Philipino. And guess what: feel free to add more music! Especially from languages I haven't seen yet. In a week I'll post a final playlist with all the music shred in this challenge for all to listen to. Let's build the most interesting playlist of rock music we've ever seen!
PS: Please correct me if I assumed your language but 'guessed' wrong! I wasn't very clear about stating the language of the song in the instructions - will do better next time :-)
The players
From @nokodemion / Hebrew
Very impressive song which got a lot of respons in the comment section as well!
From @phortun / Czech
From @thebluewin / German
Who doesn't know Rammstein?
From @julisavio / Brazilain Portuguese
Normally Portugese makes me feel calm...
From @whack.science / Croatian
From @bil.prag / Serbian + Sovakian
The best thing about the entries of @bil.prag is that he always shares music from his personal friends! So yeah, basically you're listening to music that is not widely known even in his own country. This guy is a treasure if you love photography and music anyway so here's my call to you to follow him for more ;-)
From @thekitchenfairy / Indonesian
From @livinguktaiwan / Chinese (Is this Mandarin Chinese?)
This song is played during the recent protests in HongKong
From @svemirac / Serbian
From @karinxxl / Dutch
From @celestal / Finnish
Awesome! Last time we didn't have any Finnish entries but now we do! And they are great!
From @trincowski / Portuguese
Trincowski even made a post about it: https://steemit.com/rock/@trincowski/a-trip-down-to-memory-lane-old-portuguese-rock-songs - I love Portuguese and these songs are a joy to listen to :-)
From @breadcentric / Polish
He shared many more videos in the original post, but this was my favourite!
From @fotostef / Greek
Ahhh - this is the original 80s rock sound, but in Greek!
From @verhp11 / Dutch
A real music lover here :-)
From @macoolette / Philipino
The Illegal Entries
As always some people want to play the game while breaking the rules. I'll share their entries anyway while sharing how they broke the rules. That's fair, isn't it? :D
From @arcange / French
This entry was illegal as it wasn't a rock entry, but since it's his son and girlfriend, both clearly very talented, and because I like @arcange a lot, I'll share the entry anyway :D
From @raj808 / Liverpoolian English Slang
Illegal since it's... English, but, it's an English slang from Liverpool so still very interesting to listen at :-)
From @steemmatt
An American sharing Icelandic Music - that shows good taste! I'm still looking for an Icelandic person on Steem to join my challenge, for now Matt will do :D
From @riverflows / Australian
Does Australian count? - Hmmm. The idea of the challenge of course is to break away from music that is generally known and easy to find mainstream, and since Australian music might not be that mainstream we decided it was a good fit for the contest anyway. Plus, she shared an amazing post to go with the music - kuddos for the extra effort!
That's it for now. Thanks a lot for 'playing' and I hope to see a few more languages added. Let me know which songs you liked the most!
Return from Community Music Challenge/Party: so far we have rock music in 17 languages to Rosanne's Web3 Blog
