Abandoned Shit Weekly: Windows without glass in an abandoned Fort

The 'Abandoned Shit Weekly' contest from the passionate nature lover @customnature got skipped a week - but we are back on! It's one of my favourite themes to participate in since it makes me go back through my photo archives in search for pictures that fit the theme, and sometimes even finding one I overlooked before.

This week's theme is WINDOWS, and since I knew I had taken a lot of shots of windows in Fort de la Chartreuse I went back to that folder in Lightroom.

I was thinking of another picture to share when I suddenly found one I never edited because it was technically very much imperfect. But - it matches the theme so well I decided to edit and post if for the contest!

I love to imagine how this corridor must have looked like al those years ago... Now, the wall on the right has cracks in the paint, the windows don't have any glass in it anymore, dirt on the floor of the small corridor. But, and that's what made me select this picture, you can still clearly enjoy the abundant nature while looking through the window! Since it was a Fort and partly prison during war times I can imagine the trees and bushes served partly as a cover-up for this building.

Out of sight, out of mind!

As always: this is not a photography contest per se, so if you have some shots of abandoned shit consider following @customnature and join his weekly contest!
