Weeks and weeks ago I got to see the work of señor @misssadeyes for the first time. It was this amazing post where he shows how he created a self-portrait by sketching himself while looking in a mirror, taking a picture of the sketch, and then editing it further in Photoshop.
[Start & End, please check out more details in his post!]
I kept an eye on his work from then on and supported it whenever I could. After one of the last comments I left I got a message on Discord where he offered me to create a portrait - and so I commissioned my first artist on Steem!
Follow @misssadeyes!
Now, I'm not going to make this into a long post. @misssadeyes and I talked on Discord, we picked a picture together (I wanted him to pick one he liked to work with, it turned out to be my avatar :D), and he started working on it last weekend. The end-result surprized me completely! He has a bold and sometimes even a bit 'dark' style (@nomadicsoul even compared to Frida Kahlo!) so I did not expect to get all the roses surrounding my portrait... And I love it! It makes for such a colourful and bold and complete portrait, where the green of my eyes is used to create the green in the background. He started with two separate sketches that he then morphed into one. A rather 'colourless' photograph got turned into a vibrant piece of art.

I hope you check out the profile of @misssadeyes and give the post where he explains his full process your upvote! He already got a @curie which makes me terribly happy, but an artist like him could use and deserves your upvote and continued support in the future. I will send all liquid payouts from this post to him as well.
I'm more than excited about the level of talent we can host on Steem! Are you? If yes, consider commissioning him, you won't be disappointed. I received the high-res artwork files via e-mail so you could easily print the work and make it a gift for example. I'm certainly going to work with @misssadeyes again in the future!
