### The amazing writer and fellow #teamgirlpowa member @malloryblythe is doing a contest in which she gives away about 21 shares in the @steembasicincome initiative!
For those who don't know: @steembasicincome lets you 'buy' yourself a lifelong basic income, by subscribing someone else! The cost of subscribing a person into the program is only 1 STEEM, after which that person receives an automated upvote, as will you! Because you simply get one 'share' more every time you subscribe another Steemian into the program you are able to grow your income by subscribing others, so it's a win-win-win. Check out this post if you want to know how to subscribe!
In order to win a share in the @steembasicincome @malloryblythe offers you a few subjects to write about. I picked the following subject:
Tell us about one or more projects that every newbie should know about.
My answer: @dustsweeper! Now I see @abh12345 already mentioned this in the comments of the post, but since it is such a new and probably still unknown project that could use some attention I still decided to write a post about it :-)

The birth of sweeping DUST on the STEEM blockchain
A few weeks ago I stumbled upon a Resteem of a post by @davemccoy named Dustbuster! - Send Me Your Posts Or Comments (At $0.01 or $0.02) And I Will Upvote To $0.03. Here he explains that posts with a 0.01/0.02 cents pending payout actually do not get paid out by the blockchain! The lowest of payouts simply are discarded as 'dust', leaving the Redfish with still only Redfish followers with even less chance of growing their accounts!
@davemccoy decided to let people send in links with these 0.01$ and 0.02$ pending payouts so he could upvote them to 0.03$. Awesome initiative, because for some Steemians this might mean finally seeing their fist actual payouts. And this got me thinking: what if we could somehow automate this awesome idea?
So I replied on his post
Such a creative idea to help! We need a ‘dust bot’ that upvotes to 3 cents if a post hasn’t been downvoted after let’s say 6 days! I’d follow that trail :D Keep up the good work!
On which @davemccoy replied
I agree that is a fantastic idea @soyrosa! I will try to think that one through, but yes it would be very helpful! :) Thanks for the comment and the idea!
And well, I'm not sure if I were the planter of a little seed, but I now do know there are some real hard-working and 'get your hands dirty' people on this blockchain, because not even 14 days later the following happened: [ANN] Introducing Dustsweeper. A new service to turn Dust into Profit. @davemccoy and @danielsaori made the most sympathetic bot ever: @dustsweeper was born!
I strongly suggest Minnows with very low payouts to take a look at the service. It sucks to not get big upvotes and it sucks even more to know the tiniest of payouts will never arrive in your wallet! How can you grow if you can't grow 1 cent at a time? I believe it's a demotivating (although probably a partly useful barrier for 'bad actors'?) aspect of the STEEM blockchain and I love seeing a team who has acknowledged this and create a solution for it. Also, think about it: even if your posts do get big enough payouts, how many comment upvotes have you gotten of 0.01$? I know I myself have given these tiny upvotes many times on comments on my blog! (Ouch.) By participating in @dustsweeper you'll be able to get these paid out as well! :-)
Thanks for creating this cute bot @davemccoy and @danielsaori! I'll send a delegation your way to support the initiative after my next power up. Thanks for creating this opportunity to write about this @malloryblythe! That's a really generous contest you shared with all of us.
And for everyone following me or stumbling on my post: go check out @malloryblythe's post and send in your entry! 21 spots means you have a big chance of winning. Since I truly love the idea behind @steembasicincome I would love to see more people enjoying the advantages of this program!
